About the Artist
Hello! My name is Andie Cook. Here's me with my tea.
If you have found yourself here it is because you have found my crochet page and want to know more about me. Thank you for caring enough to want to know me and not just my art! I consider myself truly blessed to be able to run this site, create beautiful pieces, and spend time with my daughter.
I met my husband on a Carnival cruise ship when we were 16 and 17 (he was almost 18). We lived 4 and a half hours away from each other and became friends, but he shipped off to basic training shortly after we met. We wrote letters back and forth for the few months he was away, and when he got back he asked me to be his girlfriend. We got married a few years later after we eloped. We had a small ceremony in Alabama while he was stationed in Gulfport, Mississippi serving in the US Navy. It was there that I found a job in the Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) field working with children on the autism spectrum.
After he left the military, we moved to my hometown, Tulsa, Oklahoma. We lived there for 3 years. I continued working in the ABA field at a new clinic until we had our daughter in 2021. After that I worked from home doing contract work for Cox Communications.
Now, I live with my husband and our daughter on a 7 acre property in Steelville, Missouri. We moved here from Tulsa in September of 2023 after our daughter recovered from a major medical event, and have loved it since. We have 3 cats (Nat, Nina, and Weasley), and our Shiba Inu, Brutus.
I have been crocheting since I was about 13 years old. I am now 27, and have about 14 years of Crochet experience. I started writing patterns last year and took the plunge into being a fulltime mom, as well as a crochet artist in May of 2023. Now I am just here sharing my art and hoping to make a living off of it so my husband doesn't have to work so hard. My dream is to grow my business enough so that he can stay home and we can properly homestead.
